Vienna is the primary city and capital of Austria.  Here you will find over 100 museums, loads of theatres, magnificent palaces, beautiful parks and cozy cafes.

This city is a cultural hub of art, music, science and cuisine.  It was inhabited in 500BC and was occupied by Hungary from 1485 to 1490.  Vienna later became the Capital of Austria in 1804 during the Napoleonic Wars.

Supervised by the Allied Commission, this city was divided into four sections and remained this way until 1955.  This was the year the Austrian State Treaty was signed.  This busy city is now made up of twenty three districts.

Known for its music, Vienna is home to the Burgtheatre, Volksthreater Wien and Theatre in der Josefstadt.  All offer exciting musicals and operas to keep you entertained at night.

Vienna is famous for its balls and hosts these wonderful dances approximately two hundred times a year.  Usually they feature around nine orchestras and are held at amazing palaces throughout the area, with the main one being held at Hofburg Palace.

A day of relaxation cannot be found anywhere else except at one of the many beautiful parks around Vienna.  Take leisurely walks through Stadtpark, Burggarten and Volksgarten.  Have a picnic and enjoy the outstanding surroundings.

This area is known for its cafes, where you will be given a cup of coffee with a glass of water.  This started when the Turks were in the area and left bags of coffee behind, the strong aroma and taste of the coffee has continued through the centuries and are favored by locals throughout the area.  Sit down and watch the world go by as you enjoy a steaming brew and a glass of water.

Some of the greater sites are the imperial palaces with the most famous being Hofburg Palace and Schonbrunn Palace.  Schonbrunn Palace is home to the city’s oldest zoo the Tiergarten Schonbrunn, it will offer you a day to remember.

Do you love horses? You really can’t miss the majestic Lipzzaner horses performing at the spansiche Hofrettshute.  These noble creatures dance and move that will keep you enthralled for hours.

A truly cultural day can be spent at a few of the one hundred museums which are housed in Vienna.  The larger museums include the Hofburg Museum and the Kunschistonches Museum.  The Museum Quarter is home to the Museum of Modern Art, Leopold Museum and The Liechtenstein Palace, which has loads of private art pieces for you to admire.

Once you arrive in Vienna it is so easy to get around.  A rental car is something you can choose if you prefer to be in control, but their outstanding transport network will get you to where you want to go with ease.  Choose from one of the five metro underground lines, public buses or trams.
